As we commence Term 3, we reflect with immense pride on the dedication, growth, and achievements demonstrated by our students and staff throughout 2026. The start of a new term brings fresh energy, where daily music, physical movement, and active exploration serve as vital cornerstones of learning. By integrating these elements into everyday school life, we foster an environment where creativity and curiosity can flourish in every learning space.

Enhancing Our Learning Environment & Native Spaces

Over the school holiday break, our school grounds received exciting new additions. Students were thrilled to explore new play equipment, which has added dynamic opportunities for active movement and social connection during recess and lunch.

In connection with National Tree Day, all students took active stewardship of our environment by planting native grasses and shrubs along the adjoining embankment of the new equipment and in our front garden beds. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mick from the Sustainability Hub for supplying the native plants and sharing his expertise with our students. Hands-on projects like this allow our students to connect directly with nature, deepening their curiosity about the local ecosystem while taking pride in caring for their school environment.

Community, Character, and Active Achievement

Our recent Cross Country Carnival was a resounding success and a wonderful demonstration of our school community in action. Utilising the space behind our main building, runners navigated a unique off-road trail course that made this year’s event both challenging and memorable.

Events of this scale reflect the passion and commitment of our community. We extend special thanks to our dedicated staff—particularly Mr Sargent for his athletic leadership—as well as the parent volunteers who generously gave their time to support our runners. We look forward to recognising our students' persistence, sportsmanship, and achievements at our ribbon presentation later this term.

Expanding Our Educational Pathways

It was a pleasure to welcome both familiar and new faces to our school for our recent Year 7 Information Night. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to share our vision for Year 7 and beyond, outlining how we plan to support our students’ educational journeys as they move past the primary years. We were energised by the thoughtful questions and lively discussions from parents and carers, and we look forward to sharing further updates with our school community as formal approvals and details are finalised. Embarking on this next chapter is an exciting milestone, and we are eager to continue providing a continuous, supportive learning environment for our growing school family.

Enriching Cultural Connections Through Music

This week, our students were treated to an inspiring live performance of Life is an Echo presented by Musica Viva Australia. Performed by the ensemble San Ureshi on traditional East Asian instruments—including the erhu, guzheng, and intricate percussion—the interactive show shared rich musical traditions, rhythm, and storytelling with our school community. Our continued partnership with programs like Musica Viva directly reinforces Richard Gill’s founding vision of placing music at the center of education, continually exposing our students to new cultures, diverse musical landscapes, and the magic of live performance.

Whether through rhythmic movement, artistic expression, outdoor discovery, or structured academic inquiry, our focus remains on nurturing well-rounded, inquisitive learners. We look forward to an enriching Term 3 filled with collaborative learning, creative milestones, and continued growth across all areas of school life.
